The Dave Horton show, (that's him on the right) what a cracker! By all accounts, a decent turn-out for the 102 club's first ever meet. I'd like to sincerely thank those who turned up, seems this region of ours has some formidable pikers within !
Special thanks to Dave Horton, one of our members and he donated his talk to the region free of charge. Quite fitting to have the great man talk about his many experiences in and around some of the Essex waters besides the rest of the UK, a legend in more ways than one ! If watching his talk doesn't give you the inspiration to go out and catch big pike, nothing will.
In helping the region reach it's first talk i'd like to give my right-hand man Ray Pemberton a big thankyou, he never stopped working through the summer to set our opening night off with a bang, he done everything he was asked and then some. I think our members can be proud to have Ray pulling the strings. Think i'll start calling him Mr Fixit ! Also to Andy Syddell, who set up this blog in the summer when i really needed help ! Top man.
With John Goble and Tony Myhill as our next guest speakers on Wed Oct 13th (see below) please be aware we are raising money on behalf of Cancer Research in honour of the late, great Charlie Bettell and the talk will be in part in rememberance of Charlie. I ask of you all to contribute to the raffle on the night, organised by Kevin o'Keefe. Half the entry fees and all of the raffle will be donated to Cancer Research UK. Don't forget everybody, you don't have to be a PAC member to attend our meetings/ talks, so how about you bring a friend? Also, we are in talks with Eddie Turner concerning his tackle stand at this talk, so keep an eye out for confirmation.
Don't forget on our evening meets to take a raffle ticket when you pay the entrance fee, this entitles you to free food from the bar when served at half-time interval. We should have all the big screen tv's working by the next talk, along with the microphone nobody should miss out on any part of the talk then !
