Hi, after our fantastic evening with John Goble and Tony Myhill, we have our fantastic charity raffle and online auction (Pike and Predator forum) monies rolling in for Cancer Research UK. At present we are well on our way to £3000 and are confident of reaching somewhere near £3500 in total. A marvellous effort indeed, we have one of our region's members, Kevin O'Keefe, to thank for putting in a lot of hard work in running the amazing online auction. Well done Kevin! On Wed 10th Nov at the Nags Head pub, for the Mark Barrett and Denis Moules talk, we have Darren Crouchman from Cancer Research UK coming down and paying us a visit, in order for us to present the cheque to his charity. We'll be in touch with the local 'papers for that one! So, all in all, another special evening.
We are currently in talks with another massive name in the world of pike fishing, to come and give us a talk and we hope to announce this soon. Can't say who it is yet, they don't come much bigger but we are keeping everything crossed and are hoping for either a Dec 1st slot or early 2011. Keep watching this blog!
Don't forget our first fishmeet! Nov 6th, £5 for two rods, we'll be piking from 7.30am to 4pm. Ideal for us to have a get together, ideal for beginners to the sport, a real chance to get the Essex PAC out on the banks and get meeting people! Lastly, we are currently trying to sort out some wonderful Essex PAC 102 RA car stickers! Oh yes, we are really gonna get the word out with these and when it's sorted you'll be able to buy them at our meets.
